Tamron participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 2019

The Northport RFL takes place June 8, 2019 at Northport High School, New York

March 22, 2019, Commack, New York – Tamron USA announced its corporate team, Tamron Tackles Cancer, will participate in the Northport, New York Relay for Life event for the second year on June 8, 2019 (154 Laurel Hill Rd, Northport, NY). Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in thousands of communities and 27 countries each year. The Relay event is open to the public who can participate in many events throughout the evening.Survivors and caregivers are encouraged to come for a Survivor reception and walk the first laps of the night. The team’s captain, Sydney Flem, is a high school senior who has been a relay captain throughout high school. “This relay is very important to me,” stated Sydney Flem, who organized Tamron’s 2018 corporate team and will lead the team again this year. “We raise money for much needed research and care for those directly affected by cancer and their families and friends. And as a daughter and granddaughter of women affected by breast cancer, my participation and walk are very personal.”

“We are proud to aid in the fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society. On the day of the Relay for Life event,while raising money to support the important work of the American Cancer Society, we will honor the lives lost to cancer, support those battling the disease, and celebrate survivors,” stated Stacie Errera.

Photo Seminars & Photowalk Fundraisers

Tamron has set a fundraising goal of $10,000. Tamron has scheduled a series of benefit educational sessions as its 2019 fundraiser. Four photography seminars are scheduled at its Long Island Headquarters in March through May, and a photowalk on the NYC High Line led by professional photographer André Costantini is planned for April. 100% of the $29 seminar fee and $59 photowalk fee will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
